Grifols becomes signs 4-year sponsorship with UEFA Women’s Football

July 15 – UEFA Women’s Football has added medicines producer Grifols as its exclusive healthcare company partner in a four-year deal.

The four-year deal, which will run from the 2021/22 season until 2025, will cover UEFA’s women’s competitions at all levels including the Champions League, the Women’s Euro, U-19 and Futsal tournaments.

Grifols, joins Visa, Pepsi, Just Eat Takeaway.com, Hublot and the Euronics Group as partners of UEFA Women’s Football.

Grifols will activate their sponsorship across in-stadium fixed and rotating LED boards, matchday and on-site promotions, premium giveaways, hospitality and digital actions on social media platforms.

Grifols is partnering with UEFA at a time when the women’s game is undergoing unprecedented expansion.The Women’s Champions League is being expanded to include a 16-team group stage, while prize money has been quadrupled. The Women’s Euro 2022 will be played in England next summer..

“This is such an exciting time to be part of UEFA Women’s Football as our game is developing at such a tempo and we are delighted to welcome Grifols on this exciting journey with us,” said Nadine Kessler, UEFA’s chief of women’s football.

Women account for 60% of the Grifols workforce which in early 2021 was included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index for its commitment to the advancement of women in the workplace. Grifols is a leading global producer of plasma-derived medicines.

“Sport is one of the most powerful platforms for promoting gender equality. It develops skills and qualities that inspire girls and empower women in the workplace and in all areas of community life,” said Teresa Rione, Grifols chief communications officer and former Olympic athlete.

No value was given for the sponsorship.
