Lenovo take back of Inter shirt

July 16 – Inter Milan’s technology partner Lenovo has expanded its relationship with the club to become its back-of-shirt sponsor in a reported #3 million a year deal.

The Chinese tech giant first partnered with Inter in 2019 in a deal that saw it provide tech support and receive branding on Inter’s training kit.

Lenovo’s one season deal for the 2021/22 season reflects a little of the corporate uncertainty around Inter currently, whose owners Suning are in a financial crisis and folded their Chinese Super League club Jiangsu the season after it won the CSL.

“It’s an honour to be announcing this upgrade of our partnership, which reflects how successful the collaboration has been since its launch two years ago,” said Inter president Steven Zhang.

“Technology and innovation are key values for us – values we believe are crucial to engaging with new generations. The continuation of this partnership represents a great opportunity for us to continue to work towards this goal. Like Inter, Lenovo has a track record of success and an ambitious vision for the future. We’re proud to have not just consolidated our partnership, but to have taken it to the next level.”

That level includes the development of the club’s content division as it pushes towards its aim of being a ‘digital entertainment company’.

Inter has still to announce a shirt front sponsor to replace Pirelli with rumours that Socios.com, who just took the naming rights to the Argentinian league, are set to take the position in a short term deal.
