July 11 – The qualifiers for The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Women’s Under-20 Qualifiers Tournament kicked off this week with the Dominican Republic losing 3-0 to Trinidad and Tobago at home.
The qualifiers will see 15 national teams forming four groups competing against each other in four venue countries; Suriname, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and British Virgin Islands, for a place in the Finals.
Two teams will advance from each group to compete in the finals which have been tentatively set to be staged in Puerto Rico in October, the exact date is still to be confirmed.
The qualifying rounds will be completed July 27.
In Group 1, in the Dominican Republic, also sees teams from Trinidad and Tobago and Aruba. British Virgin Islands (BVI) is hosting Group 2 with Antigua & Barbuda competing against St Kitts and Nevis and Anguilla.
Group 3 is being played at Andre Kamperveen Stadium in Suriname, with St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and Dominica. Group 4 matches will be staged in Kingston, Jamaica, at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex with Cuba, Curacao and Bermuda in action.
