August 13 – On the eve of their return to the Premier League, Brentford have announced Australia-based cryptocurrency exchange CoinJar as a premium partner of the club.
Brentford have become the latest club to jump on the crypto bandwagon, but rather than the CoinJar deal being to launch a fan token cryptocoin, the CoinJar deal is a straight sponsorship. The two-year deal will see the CoinJar brand feature prominently on LED signage during the Premier League season at the club’s new stadium.
“The success of both CoinJar and Brentford is a result of rigorous data-analysis, thinking differently and strategic planning,” said Brentford chief executive Jon Varney. “For many, Cryptocurrency remains a complex area, so we look forward to working with CoinJar as part of the partnership to help educate our fan base as both parties continue their rise in our respective industries.”
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“As two teams built on data, insights and market fundamentals, we are jointly committed to supporting and championing innovation and growth and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the top division of English football,” added CoinJar chief executive Asher Tan.
CoinJar also sponsor Australian Rules Football premiership-contenders the Melbourne Demons.
