September 29 – UEFA has banned Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka for two matches for his sending off during Manchester United’s Champions League loss to Young Boys in the first round of group matches on September 14.
Wan-Bissaka was sent off for a late tackle in the first half of a match that also saw UEFA sanction the Swiss side.
Young Boys were fined €12,000 for a fan invading the pitch and €24,000 for blocking public passageways.
Wan-Bissaka, sanctioned for ‘rough play’ will miss tonight’s game against Villareal and the match against Atalanta on October 20.
Leicester and Napoli fined
UEFA sanction have also been meted out Leicester City and Napoli after their Europa League match ended in a 2-2 draw on September 16.
The match saw fans from both sides throw objects at each other in the ground following disturbances between the two sets of supporters before the match and a mile from the ground that saw seven men later charged by police.
Leicester have been fined €20,000 for “throwing of objects and crow disturbances, while Napoli have been fined €10,000 for the same offence and a further €5,000 for “acts of damage” to Leicester’s stadium.
