FIFA grows World Cup 2022 sponsors with UPL deal

October 27 – Global provider of agriculture products UPL Ltd has become a regional supporter of the 2022 World Cup.

The new partnership follows a memorandum of understanding that both parties signed in 2020 where UPL joined forces with the FIFA Foundation to promote and raise awareness about sustainable development in agriculture and education in society through football.

FIFA general secretary Fatma Samoura said: “UPL Ltd is a leading global brand in its sector and, like FIFA, believes in the importance of sustainability, development and education. We look forward to working closely with UPL Ltd to use football as a means to improve awareness of sustainable farming practices and emerging technologies that are beneficial to all.”

On Tuesday, FIFA had already unveiled social media platform Baaz and sports news website winwin as regional supporters of the Arab Cup.

“This is a great milestone in winwin’s success story and it will help us to position winwin.com  as one of the best Arabic sports portals within global standards,” said managing editor of winwin Esmail Alroshd in a statement.

In December, Qatar will stage the Arab Cup as a dress rehearsal for next year’s global finals, which will be played for the first time in winter from 21 November until 18 December.
