November 29 – Conmebol has agreed a multi-year partnership with Crypto.com as an official partner of its showcase club competition, Copa Libertadores.
The deal saw Crypto.com with branding at Saturday’s final in Montevideo where Palmeiras beat Flamengo 2-1, however the partnership will being in earnest for the 2023-26 cycle, according to a Conmebol statement.
Crypto.com will however be a licensee of the competition’s official non-fungible tokens (NFTs) from the start of 2022.
As part of the sponsorship Crypto.com will be the first brand integrated into the Virtual Assistant Referee (VAR) feature, as well as receiving brand exposure in stadiums, as well as in broadcasts of the Libertadores, as well as a further package of digital assets.

We are convinced that this partnership will be to the benefit of South American football and also for this thriving company,” said José Astigarraga, Secretary General of Conmebol.
In football Crypto.com is a partner of Paris Saint-Germain. Earlier this year it launched Crypto.com NFT, its platform for collecting and exchanging NFTs.

No value was given for the sponsorship.
