March 23 – Tickets for the Wembley play-off between the national team champions of Europe and South America – dubbed the Finalissima 2022 – go on sale Thursday with category 3 tickets priced at £25.
The match between Italy and Argentina will be played as a midweek, evening kick-off game on Wednesday 1 June.
The highest priced Category 1 tickets will cost £55, while category 2 cost £40. There is also a Ticket+ package for £99 which gives access to the Wembley Club level, a premium lounge, a complimentary drink and access to a pay bar and food facilities. A pre-sale for this category will run from 22 to 24 March.
It is 29 years since the champions of UEFA and Conmebol played each other. Then Argentina, with Diego Maradona in the line-up, beat Denmark in a penalty shoot-out. In 1985 France beat Uruguay in the inaugural competition.
A UEFA press release said the Europe vs South America contest “will serve as a catalyst for the global development of football – uniting countries, continents, and cultures, while also demonstrating to fans around the globe that football can be a force of good in turbulent times.”
Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
