March 31 – After a three-year hiatus Manchester United are taking their fan engagement event back on the road with Miami, Florida, as the first stop on April 16.
The #ILOVEUNITED event will be held in the Oasis Wynwood and with club heroes Diego Forlan and Andy Cole present. The event is free to fans who apply via the Man Utd app.
Miami is more often the domain of LaLiga’s clubs with LaLiga even having played an El Clasico friendly between Barcelona and Real Madrid in the city, and would have returned for a regular season fixture had they been allowed.
However Miami in a pure footballing sense is perhaps now more aligned with the Premier League with former Manchester United star David Beckham a leader in the InterMiami ownership group, and the club managed by his former Manchester United teammate Phil Neville.
The Miami event will include live entertainment, giveaways and some (unnamed) special guests as the day builds towards the Manchester United vs Norwich City Premier League fixture.
The event will be streamed across the Manchester United App and social channels, and will have input from Ralf Rangnick, Jesse Lingard and other first team stars.
Victoria Timpson, Manchester United’s CEO of Alliances and Partnerships, said: “We are delighted to be bringing #ILOVEUNITED back to the United States and to Miami for the first time.
“#ILOVEUNITED MIA marks the first time the club has been able to host one of our hugely popular fan events in their traditional, physical format, since the pandemic. Returning to the USA for such an important moment underlines our commitment to connecting with fans in the US and we cannot wait for them to experience the atmosphere of watching a match together with thousands of like-minded fans.”
