April 6 – Tickets for the UEFA Women’s Champions League final at the Juventus Stadium in Turin on May 21, have gone on sale with Category One tickets priced at €20 and Category Two at €10.
Family packages (two adults plus at least one and maximum two Under-18s) cost €14+€14+€10 per Under-18 in Category One and €8+€8+€5 per Under-18 in Category Two.
These are remarkably cheap ticket process for the final of the showpiece women’s club competition following the quarter finals which broke multiple records for the women’s game in Europe.
The headline number was the world record attendance for a women’s game of 91,553 at Barcelona’s Camp Nou. Barca beat Real Madrid 5-2 and 8-3 on aggregate. They will face Wolfsburg in the semi-final.
PSG, who set a club record of their own with a crowd of 27,262 at the Parc des Princes watching them overcome Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate –the fifth largest crowd in Women’s Champions League history. They face perennial Champions League winners, at least until last season, Lyon.
Both the Nou Camp and the Parc des Prince will be in action again with the likelihood of more record breaking crowds.
A total of 180,648 fans attended the eight quarter-final matches. Overall, this season has delivered an aggregate stadium audience of 375,939 – nearly 150,000 more than 2016/17, the previous record edition of the competition.
It isn’t just attendance records that are being broken. With a broadcast deal with DAZN that sees every game covered, there have been more than 14 million total views of the live streams across the group stage, while the eight quarter-final matches attracted close to 11.7 million views from over 210 countries and territories.
Social media has also been buzzing. Cross-platform reach during the quarter-finals exceeded 20 million (up 76% from last season), while the number of followers across all official platforms has now increased by 261% compared to the same stage of the competition last term, said UEFA.
