November 25 – A 25 -year-old Bulgarian millionaire, Daniel Dimov, is in talks to buy third division French club FC Rouen. Dimov would take ownership of a club that has twice been champion of France – in 1940 and 1945.
Part of the deal would see Dimov bring a number of Bulgarian players to the club.
President of the French club Fabrice Tardy confirmed that negotiations with Dimov were proceeding well. “Dimov actually approached us. We talked about the possibility to sponsor our team. But this is not just about money. Dimov knows how to run a football club,” said Tardy.
Meanwhile Dimov also confirmed that negotiations between the two sides are in advanced stage and he is ready to help the club.
“We offered them our assistance. Bulgarian players can strengthen the team and this will allow the club to develop faster and come back in the second league, “explained Dimov.
Dimov revealed that one of the players who may reinforce the French club is former Bulgarian international Georgi Kakalov . Throughout his career Kakalov who is currently a free agent, played for teams Litex Lovech, Botev Plovdiv, Dinamo Minsk, Olympiakos Nicosia and others.
“If the president and the coach want, in January the team can be strengthened with several Bulgarian players. If the deal happens, the striker Georgi Kakalov is one of the players who can wear the shirt of Rouen,” said Dimov.
Dimov is one of the founders of the Bulgarian airline Balkanian Airways. Balkanian Airways is a private airline based in Plovdiv, offering private and business flights. The company is rapidly developing with the increased demand for fast and reliable air transportation between all points in Europe and the Mediterranean.
