Wiegman ‘happy’ with England contract to 2025 want to keep it that way

October 11 – England women’s European Championship-winning manager Sarina Wiegman has denied reports she has signed a new contract after conversations with the English FA but says she feels “very valued” in her role.

“I already have a contract until 2025 and I am very happy with the contract I have,” said the 52-year-old who led England – men or women – to a first major since 1966 in the summer.

“I feel very valued. We have, hopefully, a couple of more tournaments until that time. It’s very comfortable at the moment and we are all happy. I am happy, the team is happy, the FA is happy and I just hope we will keep it that way.”

Lat week’s 2-1 win over world champions the USA in a prestige friendly means England are now 23 games unbeaten under Wiegman.

“We just try to play well and that’s what we do every time,” said the Dutch woman. “We control what we can control and try to get better all the time.”
