November 30 – While FIFA is franchising out its FanFest internationally and attempting to establish a brand footprint in the area, the US firm of the same name that has already been working on the ground has struck a deal with Fan Token specialists Socios.com.
FanFest is an established leader in live digital and interactive events and streaming, and in football has worked with Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester City, as well as FIFA sponsor Visa.
Its multiple live shows have attracted over 20 million sports fans throughout 2022 and helped their partners generate millions in digital revenue.
The parternship wth Socios.com will allow Fan Token holders to access new digital experiences and rewards linked to their favourite teams at no extra price.
Socios.com said: “This will be the first case of Fan Tokens providing utility outside the Socio.com app, since people holding Fan Tokens in third party platforms and exchanges will be able to access the new opportunities delivered as part of this agreement.
As well as providing extra utility for Fan Token holders, FanFest will be minting Tokens and NFTs on the Chiliz Chain 2.0 (CC2) blockchain.
Socios.com said: “CC2 will lead to greater adoption of blockchain tech across sports and entertainment with brands invited to build Fan Tokens, NFTs and other digital assets with all fees paid in $CHZ.”
