VAR to be used in UEFA Europa Conference League knockout rounds

January 13 – UEFA is expanding the use of video assistant referees (VAR) in the Conference League to all knockout matches, starting with this season’s play-offs.

Last season UEFA introduced VAR for the last four of the Conference League. VAR debuted in the Champions League in the 2019-20 season.

The Conference League knockout round play-offs will be played on February 16 and 23, with the winners going forwardto the round of 16, where they will join the eight group winners.

The final will take place on June 7 at the Eden Arena in Prague, Czech Republic.
