April 12 – Bulgaria’s CSKA Sofia has signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with Chinese car brand HAVAL.
CSKA Sofia has not officially announced the partnership but the motor company’s logo has already appeared on on the back of the team’s jerseys below the players’ numbers.
The HAVAL car brand is owned by the Great Wall Motors. In Bulgaria the cars are sold by Grisha Ganchev, one of the country’s richest businessmen who, together with his son Danail, is owner of CSKA Sofia.
No value or term for the sponsorship has been released.
CSKA Sofia’s main short sponsor is bookmaker company WINBET.
The club also has a major sponsorship with oil company Petrol AD, which has the most developed network of filling stations in the country. Majority shareholder and chairman of Petrol AD’s management board is Grisha Ganchev.
CSKA Sofia is expected to officially unveil plans for the construction of a new stadium in the coming weeks, which will be built on the site of the current Bulgarian Army stadium. The club has been granted a building permit from the state for the new build.
During the construction the team will play its home games at the Vasil Levski national stadium, which is located just 100 meters away from Bulgarian Army stadium.
