February 5 – Cracovia Krakow has signed a new kit deal with Italian sportswear manufacturer Legea. The contract with Legea will come into force in July 2015, the Polish football club said. Legea will replace Nike which has been Cracovia’s kit supplier since 2012.
“While we were looking for a new technical sponsor, we took several criteria under consideration, including the amount of the contract, possibility of manufacturing dedicated Cracovia shirts, exclusivity for selling kits and other products made by the technical sponsor, as well as the catalogue prices and discounts,” said Lukasz Pawlowski, marketing and trade director at Cracovia Krakow.
“In these four areas, Legea proved to be unrivaled, and showed the highest determination in negotiating the contract.”
Pawlowski said that the new kit design was ready and manufacturing was scheduled to begin shortly. The value of the latest deal was not disclosed by the club, but Cracovia says the sponsorship contract is the highest in its history.
Legea is headquartered in Pompei, Italy. The contract with Cracovia Krakow marks the company’s first shirt sponsorship in the Ekstraklasa, the top tier of Poland’s professional football league.
In addition to the Krakow-based club, Legea has sponsorship deals with a number of football clubs and national teams in Europe, including Italy’s AS Livorno Calcio, Bulgaria’s CSKA Sofia, Norway’s Tromso and Russia’s Torpedo Moscow, as well as the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
