Red Bull Arena, Harrison, New Jersey

The 25,000-capacity home to the New York Red Bulls of the MLS and the NJ/NY Gotham FC of the NWSL is situated in Harrison, New Jersey, seven miles west of Lower Manhattan, on the waterfront in the Riverbend district.

Originally planned to be built for the MetroStars in the MLS in 2004, various planning issues prevented the build from starting until the start of 2005 when drinks company Red Bull bought the MetroStars MLS franchise from Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) and renamed the club.

Red Bull bought out AEG’s $100 million share of the stadium which was finally opened in 2010. NJ/NY Gotham FC began playing at the stadium in 2019.

Ahead of the 2022 MLS Season, the Red Bulls fully renovated the Premium Levels of Red Bull Arena including the Audi Club, Bulls Corner, Provident Bank Suite Lounge and it’s 27 indoor suites and created a new area called the Midfield Suite.

On August 12, 2016, MLS, in collaboration with the United Soccer League and oversight by the International Fotball Association Board (IFAB) made history as the first soccer league ever to use the video assistant referee (VAR) system in a live match between New York Red Bulls II and Orlando City B.

The stadium has hosted Gold Cup group matches in 2013, 2015 and 2019.
