UCL giantkillers: Faroe Islands’ Klaksvik stun Hungary’s Ferencváros

July 20 – The champions of the tiny Faroe Islands,  Klaksvik,  have made history by reaching the Champions League second qualifying round for the first time.

Remarkably they beat Hungary’s Ferencváros 0-3 away for a 3-0 aggregate after a goalless draw on home soil, sending the remote football-mad North Atlantic country into raptures

Klasvik prepared for the game by training on a grass pitch in Denmark and now face Hacken of Sweden, keeping the dream alive of becoming the first Faroese team to reach the lucrative group stage.
