Albanian FA keeps up free kit campaign to get youth into the game

September 26 – The Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) launched, for the second year in a row, its ‘Uniforma Ime’ (My uniform) project, which aims to encourage children in the country into football. FSHF boasted that after the first year, the project enjoyed a significant success amongst teenagers.

Тhe initiative is based on providing free playing kit to every child (aged 7 t0 19) who plays football with teams throughout Albania.

Тhe FSHF said in a statement: “The Albanian Football Federation and the regional football associations have everything ready to launch the second edition of the major project “My Uniform”, which envisages the provision of a set based on free materials to every child who plays football with teams throughout Albania.

“This is a very important initiative for the development of football in our country, which will guarantee all children who play football with teams from the age of U-7 to the age of U-19 a game and training uniform without any payment.”

The federation says that the impact of the first campaign has already boosted numbers for the second edition and it plans to supply more than 20,000 children with sports kit.

The process has been managed by the regional football associations, who have signed contracts directly with the kit manufacturers working to federation budgets.

“The work has been on-going for a long time following on from last year. Materials (kit and equipment) have arrived in Albania with the rest expected to arrive soon. As soon as the production company delivers all the ordered materials, a full inspection will be done and then the distribution will start according to the federation lists of each club or academy,” said the federation.
