September 27 – Saudi-owned Newcastle United has added a third betting partner – BetMGM UK – to its sponsorship roster.
Newcastle already has had a partnerships with Fun88 who for six seasons were the club’s main shirt sponsor, and in August announced a global partnership with Estonia-based Sportsbet.io.
MGM Resorts only launched their betting brand in the UK last month, and has headquartered its business in Newcastle.
Sam Behar, UK Director at BetMGM, said: “Newcastle United’s re-entry into the world’s elite this season is a golden moment for the football club and its incredible fans. We are proud that the club has selected BetMGM as one of its betting partners for the upcoming season.”
BetMGM is a joint venture between MGM Resorts and its UK-based partner, Entain. The sponsorship with Newcastle will see stadium branding and digital content creation.
Newcastle United’s Chief Commercial Officer, Peter Silverstone, said: “BetMGM already has a significant presence in the city of Newcastle, with the company’s UK office here, so it is a business that understands the football club, its fanbase and the region.”
