Lewis Hamilton in Spain, Dani Alves the other week, now Kevin Constant of AC Milan v. Atalanta Bergamo – only a few people who suffered racist abuse by “fans” of Formula 1 and Football.
The list is of course much longer than the three names mentioned above, and it appears that some very sick pigs disguised as “fans” take particular joy in insulting those whose performance gives them fun and joy. One would have thought.
But this ain’t necessarily so.
An ever-increasing number of racist thugs are everywhere. Be that in shambolic Ukraine, Roumania, Turkey, Spain, Italy or good old England (to name a few).
Players who have non-white skin colour as the only sign of “being different” (the other difference is that they often play better football than their occasionally very pale colleagues), are targeted by idiots in fan’s clothing.
The perverted pleasure to insult another human being for no reason other than the colour of his/her skin is of course nothing new. But after decades of dishonest attempts by politicians and lip-service void of any real action by public personalities alike, with a view to rid society of the scourge of racism, nothing has changed. Actually, things got have become worse.
This publication has made it a point to highlight its disgust for the racist scum low- life who populates stadia and continues to display a mindset that does not deserve to be called human. Racists are Nazis. Simple.
The matter becomes a bit more complicated if, on the one hand, we condemn racism but – as Westerners – condone and support the Nazis who are murdering people in Ukraine by the dozens. The same people who are stuck in a sick wet dream of “segregation was so good” (sic!) are now formulating foreign policy for a country that 90% of their population doesn’t can’t pinpoint on a map.
Why the comparison? Quite simple: to be uninformed is one thing (although a bad one). But to be stupid and uninformed is quite another: the racist who flings a banana at a player is both: uninformed and stupid. The Nazi who supports the Ukrainian Nazis is the exact same: stupid and uninformed (not to mention that racism is rife in the Ukraine as well)..
And both have one more thing in common: they know that the majority of “public opinion”, of a silent majority that is disgustingly silent when it should scream, is firmly on their side.
The racist anywhere, be that in the stadia, in the High Street, in remote villages or major cities, knows today that he is very likely to get away scot-free with anything he chooses to do, no matter how vile it is. The Nazi in this so very modern and educated Western world of ours, does exactly the same. How else would anybody explain (away) the thugs of the Right Sector who call the shots and shoot unarmed men, women and children, burn them alive in a Trade Union building?
The values, Western values, are shifting and sliding into an abyss of revolting proportions: civic courage is no more and sacrificed for a perfectly deranged attempt to please “a majority” – one that is neither elected nor worthy of any support. At the same time that “majority” is as feeble as it always was: it is white and desperately tries to stick to its privileges, gained through despicable wars, theft, rape and a complete disrespect for anything that is “not like us”.
The chain of history shows quite clearly what the white man is able to do. It is a sickening tale of the lowest conduct and the highest levels of hypocrisy. But we continue with that historic mission to debase, abuse and eradicate others: what the Nazis did and continue to do is genocide. What the racists did and continue to do is exactly the same, except that – in Europe – they don’t have the submachine guns to get it done.
For FIFA, UEFA, anybody, for The FA, the Spanish, the Italian and other football associations to continue with admonishing the scum to please behave, is no longer acceptable. For old middle-aged white men to to sit on their cushy thrones and pontificate about the evils of this world is a total joke. For football – and society as a whole – not to take immediate, horrific and potent action against the idiotic and seriously deranged “fans” who throw bananas at players, engage in monkey chants and beat up black players, cannot be tolerated any longer.
Football must finally start to live by its own maxims to punish racist behavior. Clubs must be punished but above all, the criminals who behave like Neanderthal men – and have a brain that fits the description – must be identified, prosecuted and hung out to dry in a cell.
In an age where the NSA can access any email, any cell phone and any private source that matters, in an age where 1984 has happened with a thirty year delay and everybody is on camera all the time, in an age where stadium security and safety for all participants is claimed to be at the top of the “to-do” -list” – in this age, anybody wants to tell us that it is impossible to identify the creep who throws a banana?
Maybe the security services would be better advised to scrutinize scrutinise those who commit nasty acts of hatred instead of focusing on John Doe who goes about his business and is on camera the entire day of his lifeall day every day.
Although, if the John Doe is black, he will of course be randomly searched at anybody’s whim. The emphasis is then on “randomly”, of course.
Find the racist thugs, prosecute them, try them and put them away. Ideally in the US where the majority of inmates in jails are black young men. Wonder why.
