May 15 – Liverpool Football Club and the online sports betting and gaming provider 188BET, have announced a two-year extension to their partnership allowing 188BET to continue to use LFC platforms to promote its services until the end of the 2015/16 season.
In their press release, Liverpool focus on their global betting partnership strategy and how geo-targeting will allow 188BET to “offer fans in Brazil and Asia, home to the club’s biggest fan bases, exclusive promotions and great gaming prices on every LFC fixture.”
Nigel Singer, Managing Director of 188BET said: “Liverpool FC is one of the world’s most famous and historic football clubs and we are thrilled to be announcing our renewal off the back of one of their most successful seasons in recent times. We look forward to building on our excellent relationship with the club and its betting fans.”
Billy Hogan, chief commercial officer at Liverpool commented: “We are delighted to be renewing our partnership with 188BET for a third term. We’ve had great success over the last five years, continually adding value to our working relationship. 188BET will service fans in two of football’s biggest markets, Brazil and Asia where we have a combined total of over 340 million followers.”
The new deal is a strong indication 188BET’s focus on advertising to foreign markets through Premier League football has not been deterred by the provisions of the Gambling (Advertising and Licensing) Bill which is currently awaiting Royal Assent.
