May 20 – Gornik Zabrze has signed a two-year sponsorship deal with betting operator Totolotek who will become the Polish club’s new main sponsor.
“Gornik Zabrze is a well-established brand, one of the most successful clubs in the Ekstraklasa with a broad and dedicated fan base,” Lukasz Seweryniak, director for operations and marketing at Totolotek, told local news site sport.pl.
The firm was the first company to launch betting services in the Polish market. It is currently owned by Greece-based Intralot.
Under the terms of the contract, the company’s advertisements will be displayed at Gornik’s stadium. In addition, Totolotek will carry out dedicated marketing initiatives aimed at the club’s fan base.
“Signing a two-year deal with Totolotek is a clear success and a reason for great joy for Gornik Zabrze and its supporters. Totolotek guarantees significant support to the club,” said Zbigniew Waskiewicz, chief executive of Gornik Zabrze.
The deal was secured with the help of sports marketing agency 4 Business, according to Waskiewicz. The amount of the latest contract was not disclosed by the club, which plays in the top tier of Poland’s professional football league.
Based in Zabrze, in the country’s south-west, Gornik operates a stadium with a capacity of 3,500. The ongoing modernisation and planned expansion works at the facility will expand this to 31,871 seats.
