Dear readers, friends and associates
A year after its re-launch and after a successful liaison with our Chinese partners at NetEase, our daily publication for the business and the politics of football – not to mention our dedication to fight racism not only in football – InsideWorldFootball.com (IWF) has taken another step towards strengthening its position in the international marketplace.
Recently, we began to incorporate broadcast interviews on our website. We now plan to increase the frequency of this content using our networks to bring the most compelling stories covering the big issues from football’s leaders.
Furthermore, and as a result of the ever-increasing statistics that we deliver to our readership, we are introducing a subscription-only service for in-depth financial and corporate information that will be exclusive to IWF.
We are also about to launch a unique product that allows coaches and club managers around the world to develop a substantially improved understanding for victory or failure – and one that shows them the dynamics of why their team actually won. Or indeed why they lost. This service is scheduled to be launched during the FIFA World Cup and we are quite certain that it will find a large number of interested followers.
The IWF App is another service we have in development with our new partners (see below) with a planned launch for the new European football season.
But most importantly, we have an announcement of a corporate nature to make that we want to share with our readers, our business partners and our associates:
From June 1, 2014, Martin Wagner, the Chairman of our mother company in Basle, Switzerland (that’s right: the same town which boasts a team that beat Chelsea FC twice…) is stepping aside and will henceforth focus on his role IWF’s General Counsel; the newly appointed Chairman of Inside World Football AG is Mr Wagner’s close friend of many years and his chairman in a number of companies, Mr Bernhard Burgener.
Mr Burgener is the CEO of Constantin Medien AG of Munich, Germany, as well as Chairman and CEO Highlight Communications AG, both companies are listed on the Frankfurt stock exchanges in Germany. I shall continue as Editor-in-chief, Chairman of the UK company and Director of the Swiss mother company.
With Mr Burgener taking the reins on our Board in Switzerland, IWF joins the group of Constantin Media AG (CM). CM companies are active in the areas of film production and distribution, sports television, sports radio- and communication. CM’s Plazamedia AG is one of the leading sports production houses in all German language markets: Plazamedia delivers 224,000 hours of tv, radio, internet and mobile platform productions per year.
The changes that are taking place at IWF are the logical continuation of a successful partnership: through Martin Wagner and his association with CM, we always had a nexus with Constantin Media and its group companies. Now that we are preparing for further growth, it seemed the right time to form a partnership with a strong and dynamic corporate entity which operates in similar fields as we do, and which allows for “cross-fertilisation” in many areas where we share not only an interest but also readers, viewers, followers and business associates.
It will be my pleasure to update you, our readers, at regular intervals about the positive changes that are taking place. You will rapidly see some additional energy and expanded services that we will offer to all of you in the short and medium term.
