June 10 – EA Sports has announced FIFA 15 is now available for pre-order. The new version of the game is touted to further blur the boundaries between the real and virtual worlds and comes as CONCACAF issue an official press release announcing the winner of the CONCACAF Interactive 2014 championship who has won a trip to Brazil.

According to Electronic Arts, FIFA 15 will bring “football to life in stunning visual detail so fans can experience the emotion and intensity of football like never before.”

With “Emotional Intelligence,” FIFA 15 will model the emotional state of all 22 players on the pitch, giving fans a chance to experience first-hand the attitudes and personalities of the world’s best football players during a match.

FIFA 15 players will now have a range of emotions that evolve contextually throughout the game based on interactions with opponents and teammates. Each player will have” an attitude or feeling towards everyone else on the pitch and will react accordingly during the games events frustration after missed passes, anger with hard tackles, and excitement when chances are taken are just some of the over 600 reaction animations that could tell the story of the game.”

David Rutter, Executive Producer, EA SPORTS FIFA, said fans should feel the highs and lows of the drama that is football and the new edition will feature “new commentary, crowd activity, and the natural reactions of the players, which make every game unique.”

The new edition features improved player and pitch modelling, animated LED ad boards, corner flag and goal frame movement, and realistic atmosphere conditions. Man to Man Battles transform defending with new shoulder barges, shirt pulling, and big fall physics allowing fans to feel the battle making dispossessing opponents more rewarding than ever.

FIFA 15 will be available in September and in World Cup year should lead to further growth in EA’s current total of 300 million registered players around the world.

Underlining the importance of the digital world, CONCACAF Monday announced that Guatemala’s Fred Mazariegos has been crowned the FIFA 14-based CONCACAF Interactive 2014 (CI14) champion. Mazariegos (Play Station 3 (PS3) gamer tag mfnfr) emerged from a field of nearly 3,000 entrants to beat Trinidad & Tobago representative Damani Garcia 3-1 on the final day of play to top the Hexagonal table with 13 points, going unbeaten in five games with a 4-1-0 record.

As a result of capturing the CONCACAF Interactive title, Mazariegos wins a trip to Brazil as a special guest at the FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC) 2014 Grand Final, July 2-3.
