June 20- Swansea City has agreed a two-year extension with Hong Kong-based Goldenway Global Group as the club’s main sponsor. The deal means Goldenway’s GWFX brand logo will remain on player shirts, following the success of the initial one year partnership.
Although no figures have been disclosed, Swansea describes the sponsorship, which will run until the end of the 2015-16 season, as “the largest agreement in the club’s proud 102-year history.” Local media reports suggested that last year’s deal was worth around £2 million.
The deal is seen by Goldenway, an international financial company with a diversified business in London, as a platform to strengthen their brands images globally and to communicate with the Premier League’s huge Asian fan base including live match broadcast which reach into over 200 million households in China. Working with sports marketing agency SportQuake, Goldenway says that it “has enjoyed a strong relationship with Swansea City over the last 12 months and looks to continue building this affinity with the club and the fans globally over the coming seasons.”
Swansea City vice-chairman, Leigh Dineen, said: “We are excited and delighted to extend our partnership with Goldenway for another two seasons and announce the biggest sponsorship deal in the club’s history.
“We have developed an excellent working relationship with Goldenway over the past 12 months that has been extremely beneficial to both parties.
“We are not only honoured to be backed by one of the world’s fastest growing financial services providers, but their prestigious presence throughout Asia has helped lift the club’s global brand to a whole new level.’

The Swans achieved 12th place in last season’s Premier League, comfortably retaining their top-flight status whilst playing an entertaining brand of football.
