Webb to open Soccerex forum in Barbados

July 17 – CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb says the expansion of the Soccerex sports business conference to his region will help create unity among the individual federations.

After their strongest World Cup performance to date, CONCACAF will be back in the spotlight in October when Webb officially opens the inaugural Soccerex Americas Forum in Barbados.

The Cayman Islands FIFA vice-president has run CONCACAF for two years and has been instrumental in the overhaul of the game through his roles as chairman of the FIFA Anti-Racism and Discrimination Task Force and a member of the FIFA Internal Audit Committee and FIFA Transparency and Compliance Committee.

League expansion, player development and hosting major events will all form part of the October forum and Webb said: “With three distinct regions within CONCACAF, the Soccerex Americas Forum will play an important role in uniting our member federations and encouraging international cooperation and business development across … our three regions.”
