July 18 – 12BET, the sports betting brand, have confirmed a new two-year sponsorship of Hull City Tigers. The sponsorship is the largest in the club’s history, following a successful season in the Premier League and an FA Cup run that saw the club make it all the way to the final, though not to lift the trophy.
The 12BET logo will feature on the front of the club’s shirt and comes as Hull City embark on their first ever campaign in a European competition; ‘The Tigers’ having qualified for this season’s UEFA Europa League after their historic exploits in the FA Cup last season.
In publicising their sponsorship, 12BET highlighted the ability to reach fans in over 200 territories through live footage shown by 80 international broadcasters, billions of pages of editorial and dominating social media debate. According to 12BET: “The association with such a prestigious and global competition will provide 12BET with the perfect opportunity to achieve their objectives faster and more cost effectively.”
CEO of 12BET Europe, Rory Anderson, said: “‘The Tigers’ give us a great Premier League platform to engage our target audience around the world. Steve Bruce has done a brilliant job in creating a vibrant powerful team that, on their day, are capable of beating anyone in the league. We’re looking forward to working with the club and the fans and can’t wait for the start of the season away at QPR.”
Hull City commercial manager, Simon King, said: “We are delighted to be working with 12BET. Having a global brand like 12BET with a great history of working in football is very exciting. This deal represents how far the club has come on the field and from a commercial perspective in the recent years. I welcome Rory and his team to the club and look forward to a strong future together.”
12BET take over from Cash Converters who reportedly paid around £350,000 a year for their sponsorship. The new partnership, which is for an undisclosed seven figure sum, was negotiated by sports marketing agency SportQuake who will also assist in managing and delivering the global sponsorship campaign.
