Huawei unveils first Arsenal 4G smartphone

July 21 – Chinese telecommunications specialist Huawei has unveiled its first Arsenal smartphone as part of a multi-million pound sponsorship deal that was signed in January and will see the brand as the Official Smartphone Partner of the north London club until the end of season 2015/16.

The Huawei Ascend P7 Arsenal Edition smartphone is a new 4G-enabled handset with a set features for the North London club’s most loyal fans and designed throughout to reflect the club.

The Smartphone features Arsenal’s iconic club crest mounted on the rear cover under the tough Gorilla Glass 3. And for the added Arsenal experience, Huawei have designed a number of themes to fit any mood including bespoke Arsenal menus.

Included are dozens of iconic Arsenal wallpapers with images from iconic Highbury buildings, scenes of the Emirates by day and night through to celebrations of the 2014 FA Cup win. Finishing touches include a working clock based on the famous Arsenal Clock End.

The phone comes with a number of football apps preloaded such as match highlights on the BBC iPlayer (UK only) and games like FIFA 14. Huawei have partnered with the BBC to offer BBC News, BBC Sport and BBC iPlayer Radio (UK Only) and the new Yakatak app for game updates and integration to fans’ social networks allowing chat on Arsenal “and clubs from 400 leagues”.

Fans can pre-register to receive more details about the device at www.arsenalsmartphone.com and can pre-order in the first week of August. The official pricing has not been announced.
