French federation extends Nike kit deal for further 8 seasons

May 3 – The French Football Federation (FFF) has now announced that Nike will be its official equipment supplier for the period of the 2026/2027 to 2033/34 seasons as part of a mammoth contract extension, growing the partnership to 23 years in total with the possibility of extending further in the future.

Nike will continue to equip all French senior teams and national youth teams for both women and men, as it has since 2011. The partnership will also include a specific component dedicated to amateur football and referees.

President of the FFF Philippe Diallo assembled an Extraordinary General Meeting on Tuesday, which unanimously voted in favour of Nike’s offer. The FFF say that the sports equipment manufacturer proved itself to be the “most convincing? of all the market players to put forward tenders between March 22 and April 29th.

The news breaks in the wake of the switch to Nike by Germany’s DFB for the 2027-34 cycle, moving rights away from Nike’s bitter rivals Adidas, and ending one of the longest running kit deals in the history of the game.

There were hints that Adidas would try to seek revenge for stealing long-term partners Germany by improving their offer for the French rights, but in the end Nike kept the contract.

“In fifteen years of partnership between Nike and the FFF, we are proud of what we have accomplished together. We look forward to continuing our partnership to serve as a catalyst for growth and investment in amateur football in France, accelerating the growth of women’s football at all levels, and further amplifying the FFF as an international icon performance and style,” said Nike.

Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation, said: “I am particularly proud and happy of Nike’s renewed confidence in the FFF. The renewal of our partnership and the agreement reached position the FFF among the very leading sports organisations in the world. When I was elected, I made a commitment to ensure the sustainability of the FFF, in all its dimensions: societal, diversity, development of high-level practice, women’s football and amateur football. This partnership with Nike, with whom we share a common vision and objectives, gives us the means to actively contribute, at least for the next decade!”

The value of the deal was not disclosed.
