Futsal makes its CONCACAF club debut in Guatemala

August 4 – A regional club Futsal championship will make its debut in CONCACAF at the end of this month in Guatemala. The draw for the inaugural CONCACAF Futsal Club Championship was held last week with six clubs representing their member associations.

Teams will play in two groups of three with the top two progressing to the semi-finals.

Host club Glucosoral of Guatemala was drawn into Group A, alongside Central U.E.S. of El Salvador, and the tournament’s Caribbean representative, Habana, from Cuba.

Borussia from Costa Rica, the other seeded team in the draw, heads Group B with Sidekicks of Mexico, and Canadian entrant Futsal Club Toronto.

The tournament kicks off August 20 with the final and third-place play off taking place August 24.
