June 13 – FIFA has published the first 24 Team Base Camps for the 2026 World Cup across the Canada, Mexico and the USA, and released a more detailed version of the tournament match schedule.
The 24 base camps listed include facilities and partner hotels in nine cities outside of the Host Cities are included in the Team Base Camps brochure –Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Green Bay, Westfield, Irvine, Louisville, St. Louis, Salt Lake City and San Antonio.
FIFA said that more cities would be added to the potential list of official base camps.
The base camps will be where teams travel to their first three matches and where they will spend the majority of their time during the group stage. Teams will submit their favoured locations after the final draw.
Heimo Schirgi, chief operating officer World Cup, said: “Even if a city is not staging matches, a participating team coming to stay creates a strong personal bond with the competition for people locally. It will see them adopt their guests as a second team during the tournament, thereby connecting even more people to the FIFA World Cup.”
FIFA said it is still “accepting expressions of interest from other cities and towns across the three host nations to propose facilities as possible Team Base Camps for the tournament”.
