Mo Salah confirms he is staying at Liverpool as he sets new Egyptian records

June 15 – On his 32nd birthday Egyptian star Mohammed Salah has confirmed that he will continue playing for his club Liverpool for at least the next season at least, closing the door on any summer transfer rumours linking him to a switch to the Saudi Pro League. 

Salah continued to excel for his country, scoring a crucial equaliser for Egypt against Guinea-Bissau in their 1-1 away World Cup qualifier. Egypt tops group one and are favourite to drive their way through to the new 48-team format World Cup 2026.

The popular daily morning TV show (Good Morning Egypt) celebrated Salah’s 32nd birthday and his 100th cap for Egypt against.

TV anchor Mohammed Elshazli hosted International Federation of Football History & Statistics executive committee member Abdelaziz Abuhamar to detail on more Salah’s terrific  football records.

Salah has now scored 345 goals and he is already the top Egyptian scorer ever at club and country levels.

He is also both the top goal scorer for Liverpool in the English premier league and UEFA Champions league with 155 goals and 42 goals respectively.

In Egypt, Salah has contributed to more goals in the history of the senior Egypt national team than any other player, having scored 56 goals and assisted 40 goals to contribute to a total (97 goals).

The top goal scorer for Egypt however is Hossam Hasan (68 goals in 176 matches over a 21 year international career) who is now head coach of the Egyptian national team.
