Adidas secure Argentine FA through to 2038

June 28 – The Argentine Football Association (AFA) have added 14 years to their Adidas partnership, taking a relationship that was formalised in 2001 through to 2038.

Prior to that the AFA and Adidas had worked together since the 1970s.

Adidas have been an ever-present part of Argentina’s recent men’s team successes that include the 2019 Copa America and capped by the 2022 World Cup win.

The deal was announced before the Argentina match with Chile in the Copa America currently being played in the US and which saw the Argentinians qualify for the knock-out rounds.

AFA president Claudio Tapia (pictured right) said: “Our partnership spans several decades and this new long-term commitment allows us, as an organisation, to drive the success of our teams and invest in our communities. We are proud of the recent successes we have shared, but we will continue to focus on the growth of our game and performance on the pitch… in this sense, and in many more, Adidas is the perfect partner for us.”

Adidas will kit out 28 of Argentina’s international as well as 38 teams competing at a national level, and three additional club divisions.

“As the reigning FIFA Men’s World Cup winners, the AFA is one of the most successful federations in history. We have celebrated many successes together and are very proud to announce that we will continue our collaboration until at least 2038. It’s a perfect partnership!” said Adidas CEO Bjoern Gulden (pictured left).

No value was given for the deal.
