Transfer talk: PSG tipped for Sancho; Williams has picked his big club move

July 29 – Paris Saint Germain are leading the race to sign out of favour Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. A PSG player could move in the other direction to ease Manchester United’s £50 million asking price for the 24-year-old.

PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte and defender Milan Skriniar have both been linked with United in the past, and are tipped for an exit.

Athletic Bilbao and Spain star Nico Williams has teased that he has “made his decision” as he weighs up moves to PSG and Barcelona. Hansi Flick’s side seem to be the Spaniard’s preferred destination but financial complications have left the club unable to pull the trigger on the deal so far.

Chelsea have reportedly contacted 26-year-old Juventus and Italy forward Federico Chiesa. The Italian has failed to replicate his best form in recent seasons, and could part ways with Juventus for a fee in the region of £25 million. Tottenham are also in contention to sign the player, who is reportedly keen on moving to London.

Liverpool and Tottenham have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Sweden striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon. The 26-year-old enjoyed a stellar season last term, tallying 43 goals and 15 assists in all competitions.

Gyokeres signed for Sporting this time last summer for €24 million – a fee which would likely more than triple if a Premier League move was to come into fruition.

Genoa are still pushing for a deal with 33-year-old former Spain goalkeeper David de Gea, who has not played since leaving Manchester United in July 2023. De Gea’s salary expectations, however, are proving to be a stumbling block in negotiations.

Manchester United have agreed a fee with FC Bayern for defender Noussair Mazraoui as the club looks to continue to develop its defence. The fee is thought to be in the region of £15-20 million but the deal completely hinges on whether the club are able to shift want-away right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Los Angeles FC have made progress in their talks to sign Atletico Madrid and France forward Antoine Griezmann, 33, in what could be a big coup for the MLS.
