CSKA Sofia launches Bulgaria’s first charitable club foundation

August 15 – CSKA Sofia has become the first Bulgarian club to establish a charitable foundation, to be called the ‘CSKA Foundation’.

The Foundation will raise funds through one-time donations, and a weekly or monthly subscription. The collected funds will be distributed in three different areas: ‘Health and tone’, ‘Training and development’ and ‘Social activity’.

The face of the CSKA Foundation is Stiliyan Petrov, the former Bulgarian international who played as CSKA, Celtic and Aston Villa.

“Driven by the belief that football is a force that should be used properly and that CSKA is more than a team, over the years we have participated in and independently organized a number of socially responsible and charitable campaigns. Your responsiveness warmed our hearts and the response made us continue to believe that every effort to do good is worth it,” said a CSKA statement.

“It’s time to move to the next level, establishing the CSKA Foundation. Thanks to this all-charitable organization, we will be able to join forces, channelize funds and help long-term and short-term even more causes and people in need. Thus, we will have the opportunity to leave our “army” mark on the path of charity.

“… Every lev will be accounted for regularly, and the causes and people with whom we engage can be found in the section of the individual directions.
