September 17 – Serbia’s FC IMT has signed a shirt sponsorship with bookmaker Meridianbet.
No value for the deal was given which the Belgrade club will important in maintaining its youth development and financial sustainability.
“IMT Football Club is proud to announce that the Meridian company has become our exclusive betting partner. This significant step in our future brings excitement and optimism, as Meridian will be a key partner in our efforts to improve the club and raise the ladder to the next level. We look forward to successful cooperation and joint achievement of the highest goals”, said the club.
“Investing in sports at all levels, from amateurs to top teams, is key to the development of sports in Serbia, and the company Meridianbet, which has been providing support to sports clubs, federations, and individuals for many years, is also dedicated to this. As another important step in supporting Serbian sports, the cooperation between the Meridianbet company and the IMT football club was made official,” added Meridianbet.
Predrag Govedarica, sports director of FC IMT said: “In general, the recognition we received from the Meridianbet company is very important for us, as a ‘small’ club we managed to rise out of the ‘sea’ of Belgrade ‘small’ clubs and create a big brand. This year we also have the best school in Serbia, which means that we are leaders in this part of Europe. In the Balkans, along with Croatia, the best football in younger categories is played in Serbia. That is why it is very important for us to have a stable partner because we are otherwise a self-financing club, we have people who are enthusiastic and spend 24 hours a day at the club. This has now been recognized by the company Meridian, so I think that the cooperation will last a long time.
“Last year we managed to survive in the Super League of Serbia, now our goal is to win the playoffs, maybe even European competitions, but we’ll see, it doesn’t depend only on us. The biggest task for all of us right now is to present Serbia in the right way in the Youth Champions League, we will try to present our country in the best possible light.”
Meridianbet company emphasised that their investment in Serbian sports will not stop.
