Asia’s federation bosses head for Seoul for annual conference

October 23 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced the line-up of speakers for its Presidents’ and General Secretaries’ Conference 2024, which will take place from October 30 to November 1 in Seoul, South Korea.

Hosted by the Korea Football Association, the event will focus on building strong football organisations and include presentations from speakers including FIFA President Gianni Infantino and AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa.

The conference aims to promote governance, professionalism, and collaboration between member associations through dialogue and knowledge-sharing sessions, with a key panel discussion set for the final day.

Shaikh Salman, who will open this year’s Conference, said: “Through constructive dialogue and the exchange of best practices from some of the most prominent experts in global football, we want to ensure our MAs and RAs are provided with the best possible tools and methods to lead, learn and inspire as we strive to set new benchmarks in governance and organisational excellence.

“At the heart of our Vision and Mission is helping our members realise their full potential. We must understand the challenges they face and provide tailored, practical solutions. Stronger MAs and RAs will create a more robust Asian football ecosystem, and this Conference is key to driving that progress.”

The conference begins the day after the AFC holds its annual awards Seoul on October 29.
