October 25 – UEFA has secured a new partnership with transportation firm Flix, which will become an official travel partner for the UEFA Europa League and Conference League for 2024-2027 cycle.
With operations spanning over 40 countries, Flix will offer more sustainable and accessible travel options to UEFA matches.
The collaboration aims to make eco-friendly travel an integral part of the fan experience, with UEFA and the Munich-based company planning stadium advertising, promotions, and campaigns focused on environmental awareness for the upcoming tournament cycle.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said: “We are excited to partner with Flix, a company that connects communities across Europe through collective means of transport and shares our vision for a more sustainable future. Whether fans are travelling for a thrilling UEFA Europa League or UEFA Conference League match or planning an extended stay, we’re making it easier for them to experience the magic of football at iconic stadiums in beautiful cities across Europe.”
No value was given for the deal.
André Schwämmlein, CEO and co-founder of Flix, said: “Sport connects people just like Flix does. We started 11 years ago in Germany and are now present in 44 countries worldwide. This partnership exemplifies our ambition to make sustainable travel accessible for everyone – whether for a trip to see family and friends or to cheer on their favourite football team.”
