February 24 – Premier League West Ham United, are increasingly looking to USA shores to increase their fanbase. The latest venture sees the Hammers hold their first-ever, fan engagement event in Utah in collaboration with Essex Montage, the club’s Official U. S. Residential Mortgage Lender.
The West Ham Winter Weekender as it was called took place at the Weedon Family Ranch in Park City Mountains as Irons fans celebrated a huge 1-0 win over London rivals, Arsenal.
The Utah event is all about strengthening its footprint Stateside in the wake of their participation in the Premier League Mornings Live Fan Fest in Chicago last September, which preceded the club’s pre-season tour in Florida.
Fans took part in a series of activities including skiing, meeting club legend, Marlon Harwood, and a good old-fashioned West Ham-themed pub-quiz. The event also had a charitable component as funds were raised for the West Ham Foundation, which supports community development programs across east London, Essex, and beyond.
Essex Mortgage has led the way to increase US fan engagement activities, with Chief Executive Officer, Roland Weedon, a life-long Hammer fan leading the charge by sponsoring the Sunshine State Tour.
West Ham are looking beyond your traditional sponsorship packages and are focusing on community-based activations with a long-term brand expansion.
