Brighton and Heineken in the zone

March 5 – Fan Zones have become an established part of major tournaments however, domestic clubs have been slow to create the same kind of environment in and around their stadiums. English Premier League club, Brighton & Hove Albion aims to correct that imbalance with the official opening of The Terrace at their home, the American Express Stadium.

This new multi-purpose fan zone will debut on April 1 when the Seagulls host Aston Villa.

On matchdays, the venue will become the Heineken Fan Zone at The Terrace and offer a digital sports bar experience with extended hours for pre-and, post-match entertainment. The Terrace can host up to 3,000 fans in an indoor/outdoor setting. This new addition is part of a £40 million investment into stadium improvements, aimed at enhancing the matchday experience for Brighton fans.

Richard Campbell, Trading Director at Heineken UK said: “We’re delighted to be expanding our sponsorship of Brighton & Hove Albion FC by partnering together to create the new Heineken Fan Zone. Just like the team at the American Express Stadium, we are always looking at how we can elevate the fan experience, and The Terrace will be the perfect place to do just that.”

In conjunction with the Heineken Fan Zone, the stadium sponsor American Express is launching the American Express Clubhouse for Amex cardholders. The space will offer premium hospitality according to Aaron Burke, VP of Global Brand Sponsorship.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner on The Terrace at the American Express Stadium and to extend our longstanding relationship with Brighton & Hove Albion FC. We love nothing more than granting special access and creating unforgettable moments for our Cardmembers and for Albion fans,” said Burke.

With Brighton now an established team in the Premier League and pushing hard again for a place in Europe next season, the matchday experience on the south coast of England is becoming a ‘bucket list’ item with football fans from around the county as well as the home fans.
