Man Utd puts on pokerface and deals in fans for KamaGames launch

February 18 – The first on-line casino game resulting from Manchester United’s new partnership with KamaGames has been unveiled. Launched as a social game, United fans will be able to play poker against other supporters anywhere in the world.

There is no money required to enter a game and there are no cash prizes or pots. But players can enter tournaments with the opportunity to win Manchester United prizes, tickets, memorabilia, trips and access to special events.

Manchester United Social Poker can be played online, on Facebook or on mobile devices.

The club says that the next social games that will be released are roulette, poker and social slots. All the games planned look to be building towards the launch of a Manchester United online casino Danny Hammett, CEO of KamaGames said: “We will continue to innovate and entertain the Manchester United Global fan base through our Social Poker Game as well with our soon coming Social Casino.”

While no money will change hands in any of these games, the obvious criticism will be that the club and KamaGames are grooming fans to move to paid online casino games.

The club counters this suggestion saying: “KamaGames does not operate any paid casino games and is strictly regulated to ensure money cannot be won as a result of playing Manchester United Social Poker. As with all social casino games, the industry set age restriction applies and KamaGames carefully police this to ensure players adhere to these rules.”

Bwin is the club’s official online gaming and betting partner. The club just doesn’t have an allocated casino games partner though the club’s website does carry a promotion pushing fans who want to bet on United or play poker and casino games, to register on Bwin’s online platform.
