March 29 – Partizan Belgrade has signed a sponsorship deal with the country’s leading operator Telekom Srbija. Under the contract, which will see the Serbian company serve as the club’s main sponsor until the end of 2016, Partizan will receive a total of RSD 140.7 million (€1.2 million).
The latest deal accompanies the release of the side’s financial results for last year. The data suggests that Partizan, which in recent years has struggled to stay afloat financially, managed to increase its revenues by 0.6% compared with 2013.
Milos Vazura (pictured), the club’s chief executive, said that securing a new main sponsor is an important of the plan to overhaul Partizan’s financial position.
“The truth is that we have found ourselves in a situation in which we all know that problems cannot be solved overnight, and what is needed is not only a good business plan, but also a revision of the status quo, and then identifying the appropriate solutions to these problems,” Vazura said.
As part of the ongoing financial overhaul, the club has cut the operations and maintenance costs of its facilities in Belgrade.
As part of the deal, Telekom Srbija’s logo will be featured on the squad’s shirt.
