Ibrahimovic to miss key PSG ties as foul-mouthed TV rant lands him 4-game ban

Ibrahimovic

April 10 – Paris St-Germain’s star Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been suspended for four league games as a result of his foul-mouthed outburst that was captured live on TV.

Ibrahimovic criticised match officials and then swore about living in France after his side’s 3-2 defeat at Bordeaux last month. He later apologised saying his expletive-laded remarks “were not aimed at France or the French people”.

He will now miss four of his quadruple-chasing side’s seven remaining league games after a disciplinary panel ruled his punishment reflected “the offensive nature and rudeness of his words”.

He is already banned for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona after a red card against Chelsea in the last round but can play in Saturday’s French League Cup final against Bastia.
