May 25 – Manchester United, the Premier League football club, which rounded off its season today with a goalless draw at Hull City, has extended its partnership with Epson, the Japanese printer manufacturer.
The company, which has been the club’s Official Office Equipment Supplier since 2010, is extending for a further three years until 2018. In this capacity, it will continue to supply United with core office and front-of-house printing and imaging equipment, while being entitled to branding in and around the club’s Old Trafford base.
Richard Arnold, United’s group managing director, said the club was happy to have played its part in Epson’s expansion, adding: “An example of this is Epson’s innovative 3D projector commercial featuring Manchester United players, which has been seen by over 10 million people worldwide.”
Ian Cameron, Epson’s general manager of brand communications, said the partnership had to date provided “numerous benefits” in key markets. The renewal, he said, “reiterates both organisations’ strong and ongoing commitment to excellence and to helping our customers to achieve their dreams”.
United, which can dream once again of Champions League success in 2015-16, after enduring a rare season without European football, recently raised EBITDA guidance for fiscal year 2015 from £90-95 million to £103-110 million.
As well as the Red Devils, Epson can boast ties to the Red Arrows, with the aerobatic team having installed one of the company’s digital inkjet printers in 2013 to produce high quality photographs taken by the team’s RAF photographers.
