June 4 – Premier League Liverpool have added a fourth date to their pre-season tour which will now start in Thailand, against the True All Stars, on July 14. The team will then move on to play two fixtures in Australia, before stopping off in Malaysia on the return leg.
Liverpool played in Bangkok in 2013 against the All Stars at the Rajamangala stadium.
Organised in association with True Corporation PCL and Muse Group Bangkok (Premier League broadcast rights holders), this will be the club’s sixth visit to Bangkok since their first in 1983.
Boonperm Intanapasat, CEO of Muse Group, Bangkok, said: “This special and privileged True Super Trophy 2015 football event is poised to be the biggest and grandest to have ever graced Thailand and the region. There will be a lot of activities specially designed and organised for the local Kopites to enjoy, including the opportunity to have some close and memorable interactions with their favorite LFC players.
The touring party will include the full Liverpool squad, plus legends Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush as well as coaching staff from the club’s charity, Liverpool FC Foundation, who will carry out work in the community as well as taking part in events with official LFC supporters’ clubs.
The 2015 tour will then move on to Australia and see Liverpool play the Brisbane Roar in Queensland at the Suncorp Stadium on July 17, before moving on to play Adelaide United on July 20 at the Adelaide Oval, another cricket ground.
More than 95,000 watched Liverpool play Australian A League team Melbourne Victory in July 2013 at the iconic MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) stadium. That Liverpool team included Stephen Gerrard and Luis Suarez and came out easy 2-0 winners.
On the return leg Liverpool will stop off in Kuala Lumpur to play a Malaysian XI at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Friday July 24.
