July 14 – Partizan Belgrade is aiming to open a new stream of revenue with plans to sign a stadium naming rights deal, according to Milos Vazura, the chief executive of the Serbian football club.
“There is no way [the club accepts] less than €1 million. I would like to get €3 million,” Vazura said, as reported by local broadcaster RTVBN. “This was my first idea when I joined the club.”
The move is part of the troubled side’s strategy to overhaul its finances by boosting revenues and slashing costs ahead of the season opening of Serbia’s top tier, the Jelen Super Liga. The 2014/2015 season saw Partizan win the championship.
In March 2015, the side inked a sponsorship deal with the country’s leading operator Telekom Srbija, under which the firm is to serve as Partizan’s main sponsor until the end of 2016. The Belgrade-based club will obtain a total of RSD 140.7 million (€1.2 million).
Earlier this year, Vazura announced that, in 2014, Partizan raised revenues by 0.6% compared with a year earlier, and decrease the operational and maintenance costs of its facilities in the Serbian capital.
The club’s stadium has a capacity of 32,710.
