August 11 – Just days into the new season, Premier League clubs Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion have signed new betting partnerships with Betfair and Bet365 respectively.
Betfair will become Arsenal’s betting partner in Europe excluding the UK, Ireland, Italy and Russia under an agreement which will allow the betting exchange to benefit from branding placement during fixtures played at the Emirates Stadium. Betfair will also have access to hospitality facilities at the stadium, as well to first-team players for promotional and marketing activities.
Arsenal chief commercial officer Vinai Venkatesha said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Betfair and welcome them to our family of commercial partners. We look forward to working together to further engage with Arsenal supporters in Europe and provide them with access to Betfair’s innovative products and services.”
Betfair head of media, PR and sponsorship, Stephen Mault said: “We will offer our range of pioneering products, exclusive offers and promotions to supporters across the season and we look forward to building a successful relationship with both club and fans.”
Meanwhile, West Bromwich Albion has signed a multi-season extension to its deal with Bet365 (which follows on from recent deals with TLCBet and NetBet). Bet365 will continue as the club’s UK and European betting partner, receiving branding exposure on pitchside LED boards at the Hawthorns.
George Harborne, head of partnerships at West Brom, said: “We are delighted to secure this agreement with bet365 and to continue the relationship we have had with the brand for a number of seasons.”
Bet365 currently have WBA at 7/2 to be relegated whilst on Betfair, Arsenal currently stand at third favourite to win the Premier League, ahead of Manchester United and despite a poor result in their season opener against West Ham.
