August 17 – Brazilian club Botafogo have partnered with IO2 Technology for development sponsorship to boost engagement on its digital platforms.
The Rio club want to focus on their social media and expand their online presence. At present, Botafogo has 1.1 million Facebook followers and 643,000 followers on Twitter.
IO2 Technology provides business consulting and IT technology solutions and will combine with the club to launch the Digital Botafogo service, existing of five commercial packages for sponsored content offered across the club’s major social networks. IO2’s software programme publishes, collects and measures the audience of each post aired on social media in real time.
“We developed this project in partnership with the IO2 Technology during the first half of this year in order to offer exclusive content and be ever closer to our glorious appearance,” said Botafogo’s vice president for social and club communication Marcio Padilha. “We understand that this form of content delivery is a good Botafogo brand strengthening strategy.”
“We have been in the Brazilian market of Information Technology for ten years, focused on deploying solutions for our customers that have quick and measurable results,” said the chief executive of IO2 Technology Marco Abcaran. “We help our customers monitor and manage customer engagement, cost, real-time revenues and operations.”
Last season Botafogo, who once boasted Garrincha in their ranks, were relegated to Serie B. At the weekend Botafogo drew goalless away to America Mineiro. They currently trail league leaders Vitoria by one point.
