August 19 – Italian giants Juventus, current Serie A champions and the country’s club leaders in the digital world, having taken another step forward with the launch of a new app for the new season that opens this weekend.
Last month the club’s new website went live, this month it has upgraded its app to contain breaking news and club content as well as a number of new features.
Among these new features are access to breaking news, photos, videos and fixture lists, as well as statistics.
The main hub of the app is the Match Room which provides fans with team news, live text commentary, live statistics and push notifications for highlights.
For the first time supporters can also use the fan-to-fan messaging service, allowing them to share match photos, voice message and selfies.
Juventus has rapidly driven its social media presence through a number of innovative fan-interaction initiatives and video content.
The club has built more than 19 million likes on its global Facebook account (users can switch between Italian, English, Spanish, Indonesian and Japanese); has 1.9 million followers on Instagram (English language); 1.5 million on Google + (English and Italian); and 2.1 million followers for the Italian language twitter account (318,000 for English; 114,000 for Spanish; 81,400 Indonesian; 18,000 for Japanese).
In China, the clubs has 1,933,089 followers on the Sina Weibo and Tencent social networks.
The new app is currently available in Italian and English, but there are plans to release versions in other languages. The app is available to download on Google Play and the App Store for both tablets and mobile devices http://juve.it/R3Gu9
